Roasted oolong tea is produced in Nantou County at an altitude of 600–1000 meters above sea level, where the mountain peaks are always covered by clouds. Irrigation and cultivation are done by the local aborigines. The tea is then hand-harvested, with careful selection of tea stems that have two or three leaves.
