Milk thistle extract capsule 60 - Fortex
Delivery policy
Milk thistle seeds contain fatty oil, essential oil, chromones, resins, biogenic amines and a unique complex of flavonolignans, the main of which are silibinin, silidianin, silicristin. It is the complex of flavonolignans, called silymarin, that determines the biological activity and hepatoprotective effect of milk thistle and preparations made from it, in particular extracts from seeds and milky juice.
The hepatoprotective effect of silymarin from milk thistle fruits is due to its antioxidant and membrane-stabilizing properties. Excessive accumulation of lipid peroxidation products is one of the leading pathogenetic mechanisms of damage to liver cells (hepatocytes). This leads to damage to the lipid layer of cell membranes and cell destruction. Silymarin prevents the accumulation of lipid hydroperoxides and thereby reduces the degree of damage to liver cells. In addition, by stabilizing the cell membrane of hepatocytes, silymarin slows down the entry of toxic substances into them (both exogenous and endogenous origin). Silymarin also activates the metabolism, resulting in the normalization of protein-synthetic and lipotropic functions of the liver.
Recommended for:
toxic liver damage (alcoholism, intoxication with halogenated hydrocarbons, heavy metal compounds, drug-induced liver damage) and their prevention;
chronic hepatitis;
cirrhosis of the liver (as part of complex therapy);
conditions after infectious and toxic hepatitis; dystrophy and fatty infiltration of the liver;
correction of lipid metabolism disorders.
